TrueNAS Core 12.0-RC1 vs FreeNAS 11.3-U5 Start-Up Performance

For the purposes of discussion, I’ll refer to TrueNAS Core 12.0-RC1 as TN, FreeNAS 11.3-U5 as FN and TrueCommand 1.3.2 as TC. The screenshots below are taken from TC.

Test Server

Test #1

Monitor server performance through TC. Reboot in 12.0 or 11.3 environments by accessing the server through a separate browser window, changing the boot environment as required followed by a server restart. While the server is restarting, the browser window is not closed, so that the OS login screen eventually appears. However, I do not log in to the server again until after I’ve taken any TC screenshots that may be required.

Test #2

TC closed. Browser window connected to TN closed. Monitor through TN reporting tools. Reboot around 12:40 am local time. Edit: A autobooting WordPress jail may have influenced the outputs. Refer to Test #3 for untainted output.
